UGM Civil Engineering Lecturer, Mr. Ali Awalludin, Shares Insights on Curriculum, International Classes, and Academic Experience at Udayana University

Denpasar, May 20, 2025 — The Civil Engineering Study Program of Udayana University was honored with the presence of Dr. Ir. Ali Awalludin, M.Eng., a senior lecturer from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), who was present to share insights and experiences in academics and teaching on May 5-8, 2025. This academic visit included a warm and inspiring discussion session on the development of the Civil Engineering curriculum, especially in the context of current global challenges and industry needs. Mr. Ali also shared the experience of Universitas Gadjah Mada in organizing international classes, including teaching strategies, managing foreign students, and collaborating with foreign institutions. Not only that, Mr. Ali also provided a sharing session on writing and publishing scientific journals, with a focus on improving the quality and visibility of research at the international level. This session received high enthusiasm from those who wanted to develop their scientific publications into reputable journals.

As part of his contribution to academic activities at Udayana, Mr. Ali also had the opportunity to teach the Civil Engineering Building Design (Capstone Design) course, which is a project-based course. In the lecture, students are guided to design comprehensive, integrative, and applied civil engineering solutions for the construction of a wooden bridge in Central Kalimantan which is currently being developed into the first wooden bridge in Indonesia. Mr. Ali's presence brings new perspectives and real experiences from the academic and professional world. This activity is expected to be the first step in closer collaboration between Udayana University and UGM in the fields of education, research, and human resource development in the field of Civil Engineering.
