GUEST LECTURE ON VR TSUNAMI DRILL EVACUATION

Udayana University Civil Engineering students received a surprise visit from renowned professors from Kyoto University, Tohoku University, and Chuo University, as well as representatives from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). This visit took place on Thursday, 19 September 2024, at the DM Civil Engineering Building, Udayana University, Jimbaran.

The main agenda for this visit is the implementation of the VR Tsunami Drill Evacuation activity. This event is designed to provide a tsunami disaster evacuation simulation using Virtual Reality (VR) technology. This activity provides students with an innovative educational experience, introducing advanced technology in disaster mitigation. This visit is not only a means of transferring knowledge from international professors and BRIN to students, but also aims to strengthen cooperation between Udayana University and various educational and research institutions from Japan and BRIN.

It is hoped that through this activity, students can increase their understanding of disaster mitigation and be better prepared to face challenges in the field. Apart from that, it is hoped that this moment can be the start of wider collaboration and have a positive impact in the future.
