DISASTER IDENTIFICATION AND DISASTER RISK WORKSHOP SEMINAR FOR PROVIDING MBKM STUDENTS ON DISASTER MITIGATION

On Thursday, August 15 2024, at the Wiswakarma Hall, 4th Floor, Sudirman Engineering Campus, Denpasar, a Disaster Identification and Disaster Risk Workshop Seminar was held by the Chief Executive of the Bali Province BPBD. This event was attended by the Coordinator of the Civil Engineering Study Program, Deputy Dean III of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, supervisory lecturers, and MBKM Disaster Mitigation students. This activity aims to equip students to face field practice in disaster-prone areas such as Ban Dukuh and Besakih villages around Mount Agung.

 

The series of activities include simulations of volcanic eruptions and discussions about potential disasters and mitigation measures in vulnerable areas. Through this session, students gain practical and theoretical understanding regarding disaster management to improve preparedness while in the field.

 

This activity is expected to increase students' awareness and ability in disaster mitigation while providing benefits to the surrounding community through education and disaster preparedness. This seminar is a concrete step in supporting a culture of disaster preparedness in disaster-prone areas.
